携帯にトランシーバー機能
NTTドコモが 携帯電話の新アプリ、プッシュ・トゥー・トーク(PTT)を搭載させるとのこと。9月30日に「Push-to-Talkは面白そう」でお話していたことをドコモが最初にやるようです。

NTTドコモは米クアルコムと共同研究するとのことなので、この点で京セラは優位となりそうです。2004/05/27に米Qualcommとインドの通信事業者Tata TeleservicesはQualcommのBREWChatソリューションを採用したPush-to-Talk（PTT）サービスをインドでの立ち上げていて、Tataは京セラのBREWChat対応携帯端末Kyocera KX440を採用しています。京セラの米子会社Kyocera Wirelessは2003年12月9日から、トランシーバー機能を備えた携帯電話の生産をしてます。
BREWChatは,QUALCOMM社のPush-to-Talk技術「QChat」を基盤に開発されて、個人対個人と個人対グループの通話が可能で、VoIP技術を使ってCDMA2000 1X ネットワーク向けに設計されていて、第3世代(3G)サービスのCDMAに対応しているので既存のネットワークをアップグレードすることなくPTTサービスを提供できるとの事。
