検索サービスの競争激化
今日、ブラウザ(Microsoft Internet Explorer)を起動すると検索バーが左側の5cm程を占領していて、びっくり。また、マイクロソフトが勝手な事をやって、自動的に検索窓が開くような設定を勝手にしたのかと思ってしまいましたが、結局何かの拍子に
表示>エクスプローラバー>検索 に設定してしまったようです。
検索バーはここから設定できたんですね
こんな事を思ってしまったのは、今検索サービス争いが熱くなって来ているからです。
GMOの社長のブログ「クマガイコム」では、< ＧＭＯスタッフへ >としていますが、4日連続で9月19日スタートする「９１９９.jp（クイックジェーピー）」と言うサービスについて説明しています。今までのインターネットに無い、いくつかの新兵器（新サービス）が搭載されていると言っていますが、その概要は
「９１９９スーパー電話帳」
「比較★検索」
「掲示板・ブログ検索コーナー」
「なにしろ、早い」
「ＵＲＬ欄（アドレスバー）に、検索したい言葉を日本語で入力」などらしいです
IxPの巨人が全力で参入しようとしている検索サービスがどんものなのか興味津々です。
インターネット事業を先行しているアメリカでは
昨日、アマゾンがA9.comと言う子会社をつくり、インターネット検索サイト「A9.com」を開設したそうです。ここは、Googleを使った検索や、アマゾンの書籍内テキスト検索など、5種類の情報源を使った検索が行えて、自分が今まで検索して検索履歴や操作記録、ブックマークを保存するメモリー機能が付いているようです。但し、メモリー機能は、ユーザー登録をすると利用できると言うことです。また、ここもやはり機能を利用しやすくする為と言って「A9 Toolbar」と言うツールをダウンロードさせようとしています。
どこの検索サービスも「ツールバー」をダウンロードさせようと画策していますね。
7月には、MSNがMSN Searchのアップグレードをして、検索スピードを軽くし、検索の最適化を計ったそうです。
こんなこともあって、Googleは一般的な検索ツールとしての地位は保っているけれど、統合デスクトップ検索ではMicrosoft社が台頭し、ポータル・サイトの競争ではYahooがリードして、グーグルの競争力は落ちてきています。
アメリカでの掲載広告のクリック・スルー率や広告主サイトでの滞在時間などの広告効果調査では、グーグルは最下位となっています。

ユーザーは，Googleの検索結果の方が，他の検索エンジンより精度が高いと感じているものの，実際は競合エンジンと比べて大差ないことが分かった。しかしGoogleは，スポンサ付きの検索結果をWebの検索結果と分けて表示するなど，検索結果の表示方法などに対するユーザーの満足度が高く，それがリピート・ユーザーの獲得に貢献している。「各検索エンジンに技術的な開きはなく 検索エンジンの人気に直結しているのは，ブランド力と検索結果の表示方法だ」（Vividence社社長兼CEOのPeter Watkins氏）
